Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 and older.  Medicare helps with some costs of health care, but it never covers all the expenses. At LA Medical Retail, we have staff on hand that specifically work with Medicare and will be able to assist you with any questions you have.

There is a lot of information about Medicare and how it works.  See what Medicare Plan below fits you the best:

  • Medicare Part A: Insurance that pays for inpatient hospital stays and hospice care
  • Part B: Insurance that pays for doctor’s services, outpatient hospital care, medical equipment and some services not covered by Part A.
  • Part C (Advantage Plan): Provides everything from Parts A and B.
  • Part D (Drug Plan): This is a stand-alone drug plan offered by insurers to people who get benefits through Original Medicare.
  • Health Maintenance Organization (HMO): This Advantage Plan covers all of Parts A and B but could cover extra days in the hospital. If chosen, you can only go to doctors, specialists or hospitals; except in an emergency.
  • Preferred Provider Organization (PPO): This Advantage Plan lets people pay less for doctors, hospitals and medical providers that belong to the network.  You can use outside network medical care for an additional cost.
  • Medicare-approved amount: includes what Medicare pays and any deductible
  • Medicare Cost Plan: A type of HMO that covers services in case of an emergency
  • Medicare Private Fee-for-Service Plan (PFFS): An Advantage Plan where people go to a Medicare-approved doctor or hospital
  • Medigap Policy: Medicare Supplement Insurance sold by private insurance companies to fill gaps in Original Medicare Plans.
  • Medical Savings Account (MSA) Plan: Takes a high-deductible Advantage Plan, like an HMO and PPO with a Medical Savings Account for medical expenses.
  • Special Needs Plan: For specialized health care, who both have Medicare and Medicaid, reside in a nursing home or have chronic medical conditions.

LA Medical Retail hopes you are able to find the right Medicare plan that fits your medical conditions.  Take a look at our online catalog to see all of the products we offer.
