Keep safety in mind as a new school year begins.

School is back in session! This time of year is exciting as classes begin and kids are busy with sports and other extra-curricular activities. Whether you have children, grandchildren, or friends going back to school, it is important to practice back to school safety. No matter how much precaution is taken, accidents can still occur. It is important to do all we can to protect children and for them to be aware of how they can stay safe as well. LA Medical invites you to visit our site for medical and safety supplies. From walkers to wheelchairs, we have aids to ease the life of anyone in need. Stay safe this August with tips found here:

  • Many schools require certain immunizations before attending school. Ask your school what they require and visit a doctor so your child will be protected. Physical check-ups are often also required before a student can participate in athletics.
  • Use sidewalks when walking to school or walk facing the traffic if a sidewalk is unavailable. Look both ways when crossing the street and practice walking the route with your child before they do so alone.
  • If biking to school, always wear a helmet and use hand turning singles. Ride on the right side of the road and in a single file.
  • Bullying can take the form of hitting, teasing, intimidating, or cyber bullying over social media sites or e-mail.  It can have a negative impact on the victim leading to depression, anxiety, missed school, and sometimes suicidal thoughts. If you ever sense someone is being bullied, ask questions to get all the information, access the situation, and take proper action.
  • Eating a healthy breakfast and lunch can provide children with the energy and nutrients they need to get through the day. Studies show children who eat a healthy and full breakfast are more alert and have higher tests scores than those who skip.

Ensure the safety of your child, grandchild, or friend this school year and offer these tips to them! We wish everyone the best of luck and invite you to visit LA Medical online today!
